Refractory Bricks Used In the Lime Kiln

Different refractory bricks are used in different lime kilns, including phosphate bricks, high RUL refractory bricks, magnesia bricks and magnesia alumina spinel bricks. 

However, high RUL refractory bricks are better than phosphate bricks. The ideal bulk density of high RUL bricks should be over 2.8 g/cm3. Since there is severe corrosion in the lime kiln, the wear resistance of phosphate bricks is not as good as high RUL refractory bricks. So, high RUL refractory bricks are suitable to the firing zone of lime kilns.  

 

Magnesia alumina spinel bricks are better than magnesia bricks, but the alumina content cannot exceed 8%, because the excessive alumina cannot form spinel and is easy to crack. Magnesia bricks are also used in the lime kiln, but they are not as good as magnesia alumina spinel bricks. So, magnesia alumina spinel bricks are a better choice.
